How to convert EPS to PDF
EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) is a vector graphics format developed by Adobe and widely used by graphic designers and print shops since the 1980s. EPS files describe graphics using mathematical paths, which means they scale to any size without losing quality. The problem is that modern operating systems no longer include a built-in EPS viewer, making it difficult to open or share these files outside of professional design software.
Converting EPS to PDF produces a document that retains the vector quality of the original and can be opened by anyone. BoltConverter renders your EPS on its servers using Ghostscript, which handles the PostScript rendering engine correctly and preserves paths, gradients, and embedded fonts.

Frequently asked questions
Will the vector quality be preserved?
Yes. The PDF output contains vector data, not a rasterized bitmap. Paths, curves, and text remain sharp at any zoom level or print size.
What if my EPS contains embedded fonts?
Fonts embedded in the EPS file are preserved in the PDF. If fonts are referenced but not embedded, the server will substitute a fallback font which may look slightly different.
Can I open the PDF in Illustrator after conversion?
Yes. The output PDF can be opened in Adobe Illustrator and other vector editors, and the paths should remain editable.
Is there a file size limit?
BoltConverter accepts EPS files up to 100 MB. Most EPS graphics files are well under this limit.
Is my file kept private?
Your EPS is sent over HTTPS, processed, and deleted from the server immediately after conversion.
