How to convert EXCEL to PDF

Excel files are powerful for editing and analysis, but sharing a spreadsheet with someone who needs to read it rather than modify it creates problems. Columns shift, formulas can be accidentally edited, and the file requires Excel or a compatible app to open. Converting to PDF produces a read-only document with a fixed layout that prints cleanly and looks the same everywhere.

BoltConverter converts Excel files (XLSX and XLS) to PDF on its servers, rendering each sheet to a page with the column widths, row heights, borders, and formatting preserved. Charts, images, and merged cells all carry over to the PDF output.

Upload your Excel file

Click the upload area or drag your .xlsx or .xls file onto the page. Files up to 100 MB are accepted.

Conversion runs on the server

BoltConverter renders your spreadsheet including all sheets, charts, and cell formatting.

Wait a moment

Most Excel files convert in seconds. Large workbooks with many sheets or charts may take longer.

Download the PDF

Click Download to save the PDF. Your Excel file is deleted from the server after conversion.

Frequently asked questions

Are all sheets included in the PDF?

Yes. Each worksheet is rendered as one or more pages in the PDF, in the order they appear in the workbook.

Are charts and graphs included?

Yes. Charts embedded in the workbook are rendered into the PDF alongside the data.

Will formulas be visible in the PDF?

No. The PDF shows the calculated cell values, not the formulas. This is how Excel looks when printed.

What if some columns are cut off?

Very wide sheets may have columns cut off if they exceed the page width. Setting print area and column widths in Excel before exporting gives the most predictable result.

Is my spreadsheet data kept private?

Your file is uploaded over HTTPS and deleted from the server immediately after conversion. BoltConverter does not retain spreadsheet data.
