How to convert PSD to PNG
PSD is Adobe Photoshop's native format. It stores layers, adjustment layers, smart objects, masks, blend modes, and all the working-file information that makes it editable in Photoshop. This complexity makes PSD files large and unreadable by most other applications. Converting to PNG produces a single merged image at full pixel resolution, readable anywhere, with transparency preserved if the flattened artwork has transparent areas.
This converter flattens and exports your PSD directly in your browser using WebAssembly. The file is never uploaded to a server, which matters for design work under NDA, client projects, or artwork containing personal content. The output PNG will look like the final visible state of the document, with all visible layers composited together.
Upload the PSD file
Drop your .psd file onto the converter. PSD files can be very large (100+ MB for high-resolution multi-layer documents). Because processing is local, there is no server upload size cap.
Check layer visibility
The converter exports what Photoshop would show if you flattened all currently visible layers. Hidden layers are not included. Ensure the PSD's layer visibility is set as you want before uploading.
Convert in browser
The WebAssembly engine reads the PSD layer stack, composites the visible layers according to their blend modes and opacity settings, and writes the result as a PNG file.
Download the PNG
Save the PNG file. Verify the output dimensions match the PSD document size and that any transparent background areas appear correctly.
Frequently asked questions
Will all layers be merged into one image?
Yes. The output PNG is a flattened composite of all visible layers. Layer structure, adjustment layers, and smart objects are not separately exported; only the final rendered appearance is written to the PNG.
Are blend modes and adjustment layers applied correctly?
Standard blend modes (Multiply, Screen, Overlay, etc.) and basic adjustment layers are supported. Complex effect stacks, smart filters, and 3D layers may not render correctly in the browser-based compositor.
Is my PSD file uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your design file never leaves your device.
Can I export individual layers as separate PNGs?
This converter exports the full composite image. Exporting individual layers requires Photoshop's Export As or Layer Export functions, or a specialized PSD layer exporter.
My PSD file has smart objects with linked files. Will those render?
Embedded smart objects (those with image data inside the PSD) will render. Externally linked smart objects require access to the linked file, which may not be available in the browser environment. Those layers may appear blank or show cached content.
