Will the PNG have a transparent background?
Yes, if the original AI file has no background rectangle, the output PNG will have a transparent background, rendered as a proper alpha channel. If you need a white background, add a white rectangle to the AI artboard before converting.
What happens to text in the AI file?
Text is rasterized into pixels at the output resolution. If the text was outlined (converted to paths) in Illustrator, it renders cleanly. Live editable text that depends on fonts not embedded in the file may render in a fallback font.
